Who are we? 

We are AcuPrime, the trading name for DongBang Acupuncture (EU) Ltd in the UK, and the European distributor for DongBang Acupuncture products. 

  

What do we do? 

For acupuncture, DongBang is one of the largest manufacturers in the world of acupuncture and physiotherapy products, in particular acupuncture needles, moxa (moxibustion), cupping and Su Jok hand acupuncture products.  

For Physiotherapy, we produce excellent kinesology taping products used primarily in the treatment of muscular-skeletal and sports injuries; and the ‘Doctor Life’ Intermittent Pneumatic Compression machine, which has proved to be very helpful in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease and for the relief of swollen limbs.

DongBang acupuncture needles are renowned worldwide for their ‘pine needle’ shaped points. Automated grinding and polishing lines result in reliable consistency of production quality, which enable DongBang AcuPrime to continue to be one of the leading suppliers in the world of acupuncture. 

To support acupuncture research we invest heavily in placebo sham acupuncture needles, which helps academics, hospitals and organisations to research, debate and test acupuncture’s effectiveness in modern medical methods. 

 

All DongBang acupuncture needles are sterilized with Ethylene-Oxide Gas (ETO) in strict compliance with CE Marking, ISO 9002, British Q-mark, and 510K certification from the United States FDA and WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines, and since January 2003 this has included all DongBang moxa products.

 

We are proud to innovate, and we have over 25 years of continous research and development experience in acupuncture products as follows:

• The best surgical-grade quality stainless steel is used. 

• The products are made with machine-controlled precision and consistency to ensure every needle is finished to the highest quality. 

• The grinding and polishing processes are automatically controlled and have no human intervention, thus ensuring excellent consistency. 

• DongBang needles have a micro polished high-tech coated body and optimised needle tip to geometrically ensure smooth painless insertion. 

• The easy grip handles are especially designed for European therapists with a handle length of up to 25mm both in pipe handle and spring handle products. 

• The needle body is coated with a micro-layer of bio-inert silicone. 

• To ensure safety we use only the most advanced sterilization procedures and packing materials and are EO Gas residue-free. 

• Most of the needle range is sterilised by EO gas, whilst the plastic handle needles and detox needles are sterilised by Gamma Rays. 

• These give 3 to 5 years of guaranteed sterility from date of manufacture. 

• We are one of the largest acupuncture suppliers in the world and fully committed to innovation and the continuous support of worldwide academic research in acupuncture.
